Contributor Guidelines

mindyourmindpro.ca is a website dedicated to building bridges between young people and their various support systems. In short we are a 'community of practice'. We deliver relevant messages using technology and multi-media resources. Youth and young adults are an integral part of how and what we promote as effective practice. As well, we refer to current literature, look to promising and best practice and maintain a analytical stance.

You are invited to submit to mindyourmindpro. We welcome relevant articles, blog entries, videos or podcasts. You can also submit ideas that can be developed into articles or web-based resources. Here’s what you need to know.

Blogging

There are really very little guidelines for blogging. mindyourmindPro Blog is a influential group blog, which includes YOU in that group. We aim to provide our readers content that is fresh, thought provoking, inspiring, and practical. The common thread is that the blog will somehow enhance our work with young people, youth, or young adults. Blogging is casual writing, simple, direct and descriptive.

We do not edit blogs. We post blogs unless they are hateful, are intended to harass or defame a person or persons. Also we will not post if the blog is completely unrelated to our topic.

Audioblogs, Podcasts and Videos

While we strive to post quality recordings, they do not have to be highly produced. This form of media simply gives you, the contributor, another way to communicate with our site visitors, and gives our audience an alternative way to take in your message.

Artwork

Graphics and images sent by you must not infringe on copyright laws for us to publish online. We will supplement some content with royalty-free images.

Articles

You may see your article published in the Resource Centre under “Enhancing Practice” or “Technology and Engagement”. Please read the articles in these sections to get a sense of what is posted here.

Use simple font and formatting when submitting. As you know, anonymity in writing about any client or student related scenarios is imperative. Supply references where needed.
